Dealmaking in the behavioral health industry continues to face challenges, but despite these obstacles, there remains significant interest. According to The Braff Group, the industry recorded 105 deals in the first two quarters of the year, projected to close at approximately 210 deals for 2026.

Dexter Braff, president and founder of The Braff Group, noted that while behavioral health has become more challenging, mental health services are still the most sought-after, with a growing focus on interventional psychiatry.

The autism therapy sector is experiencing uncertainty as industry leaders reevaluate the high-hour treatment model. However, addiction treatment has seen a slower pace, with only five deals recorded in the second quarter by The Braff Group. Despite notable setbacks and challenges, interest in this sector remains.
