Pipeline: UHS Opens New 120-Bed Facility; Blackbird Expands into Maryland

Universal Health Services (NYSE: UHS) has unveiled its latest addition: Three Trails Behavioral Hospital, a $60 million, 120-bed facility providing comprehensive behavioral health care for children, teens, and adults in Independence, Missouri.
"Expanding behavioral healthcare capacity is essential to building healthier communities," stated Coleby Wright, CEO of Three Trails Behavioral Hospital. "Three Trails was designed... offering both inpatient and outpatient services."
This new opening complements UHS's recent focus on the outpatient segment, including the acquisition of virtual behavioral health provider Talkspace for $835 million.
Brightline Expands in New York
Pediatric care provider Brightline Health has expanded its presence in New York with a fifth clinic located in Albany. The hybrid model includes both virtual and in-person locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, Westchester, and now Albany.
Services range from psychological testing for conditions like autism and learning disorders to treatments for anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and more. Brightline initially focused on fully virtual care but shifted to a hybrid approach with physical facilities in 2024.
