Noto Brings on Former Execs from Evernorth, Livongo, and Array Behavioral - Behavioral Health Business

Virtual specialty behavioral healthcare provider Noto has named Evernorth vet Dr. Doug Nemecek as its chief psychiatric officer. Noto also appointed Bruce Brandes to the role of president of health systems and David Cohn as general manager of intensive treatment service.
Nemecek, who previously served as the chief medical officer for behavioral health at Evernorth, brings expertise in specialized virtual care for OCD and PTSD—the latter added through Noto’s acquisition of Rebound Health.
The new appointments aim to support Noto's expansion into its next phase of specialty care, with plans to offer services for other specific mental health conditions. The company will leverage its established model, systems, and strategies, which have successfully scaled OCD and PTSD treatments.
Nemecek’s role focuses on leading clinical strategy, enhancing quality, and expanding service offerings. Stephen Smith, co-founder and CEO of Noto, expressed enthusiasm: "Noto is about... applying [our] model at scale," emphasizing Nemecek's crucial contribution.
Brandes, a veteran of companies like Livongo, AirStrip, and care.ai (acquired by Teladoc Health for $18.5 billion in 2020), will spearhead partnerships with health systems to identify individuals with complex behavioral health needs.
Cohn, a founder and ex-CEO at Sanarte, brings experience from his previous role at Array Behavioral Care, following its merger with Regroup Telehealth.
Noto aims to revolutionize specialized care, extending its proven model to benefit even more individuals struggling with mental health conditions.
